Senior Hardware Development Engineer

Requirements:

Experience with MPEG4 encoding and video transport controls are a necessary job requirement. Previous experience in a video chip environment would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

Develop mechanical, electrical, appearance for the base level product and its accessories. Interface with our Asian ODM partner on all phases of the development, through tooling, design validation test, documentation. The position is located in Santa Clara, but would require travel to Asia approximately 6 times per year. This is a start up environment where enthusiasm and commitment are highly valued.

 

Senior Software Architect

Requirements:

Minimum 15 years of software development experience in C/C++.
Minimum 10 years of object oriented programming.
Minimum 10 years programming for embedded systems.
Minimum 5 years as technical leader or team leader for a software development team.
Minimum 5 years experience developing architecture for user interface software.
Minimum 5 years of development experience on cross-platform frameworks.
Experience with cross-platform simulators on Windows or Macintosh.

Responsibilities:

Develop the architecture for a cross-platform software framework for multiple models of hand-held media players, and a PC-based simulator. Develop a staged approach for implementation that includes proof-of-concept cross platform implementation as well as a fully featured implementation for a single device. Build a team to continue development, and act as team lead to complete the cross-platform strategy.

 

Software Architect - Video Conversion Specialist

Requirements:

Minimum 10 years of software development of digital audio and video technology.
Minimum 10 years C/C++ programming experience.
Minimum 5 years experience using both Macintosh and Windows-based AV formats.
Minimum 3 years experience managing business relationships between different companies based on software technology interchange.
Highly self-directed and able to work independently.
Programming experience with DirectShow or Quicktime a plus.

Responsibilities:

Support for a variety of video formats and providing conversion tools is essential for our products. Currently the technology we use is primarily being dictated by our partners, but we plan to transition to having more capabilities developed in house. There are several paths for content to get onto our players. This position provides technological leadership in developing those content pathways. Description: Specialist on staff regarding audio/video formats and codecs. Work to enhance our content conversion tools to provide better flexibility in supported formats and higher performance. Work with third party tools to develop alternative pathways for content acquisition. Evaluate our products regarding audio and video quality. Help make codec and bandwidth decisions for product design.

 

Software Engineer - Software Maintenance and UI Enhancement

Requirements:

Minimum 10 years developing software in C/C++.
Minimum 5 years developing User Interface software.
Minimum 5 years of software development for embedded systems.
Strong low-level debugging skills, including experience debugging real-time software.
Experience with video recording or playback a plus. Experience with iPod software development a plus. Experience with internationalization a plus.
Experience working with user technical support a plus.

Responsibilities:

Work on various enhancements to our first generation software for an award winning hand-held media player. Responsibilities include fixing bugs, reviewing and enhancing the user interface and adding functionality. Significant new functionality includes internationalization, and wide-screen support. Work with SQA and technical support to prioritize features and bug fixes. Multiple releases will be rolled out to customers over the course of this year.

 

Product Manager (iSee)

Requirements:

The Product Manager directs and controls the development and implementation of product across several functional areas within and outside the Company. These include but are not limited to: business development/research; design engineering; marketing/communications; executive management.

Would prefer someone with 10-15 years experience who has built a successful product management function in a growing company, preferably in the consumer electronics space. EE desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Define new products based on research and Company strengths
    • Includes product feature set, industrial design, pricing targets
    • Interfaces with design engineering, marketing, sales to develop & market new products
  • Interfaces with accounting/finance to drive manufacturing/packaging/logistics
    • Includes overseeing quality management
  • Acts as general "expert" for the product with partners, press, customers, others
    • Primarily responsible for all technical content about the product
  • Develops training modules for product and market opportunities.

 

Product Manager (Accessories)

Requirements:

Looking for a combination of sourcing and business management with product design/development skills. Experienced in finding, defining, building products with overseas and/or domestic suppliers. Would prefer someone with an industrial design/marketing background who has built, packaged, and marketed B2C and B2B products. Consumer electronics experience a plus. I see this as a standalone job (won't need to develop a group like the iSee Product Manager) with standalone incentives.

Requires 10 25 years experience, preferably owned their own import business, was a senior manager at an import company, who had P/L responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Define new products based on research and Company product lines
    • Responsible for packaging & pricing, and logistics
  • Source and interface with manufacturing
  • Interface with sales, marketing, finance to build and deliver product that supports the iSee line
  • Develop cross-promotions with suppliers that benefit iSee

 

Marcom Manager

Requirements:

"Jack of all trades" Marcom manager with planning admin, and design capabilities. Previously responsible for web development, advertising/pr/tradeshows at a small company preferably in the consumer electronics space. Requires complete understanding of the marcom role, writing skills, ability to interface with a variety of contributors both in and outside the company. Web design and international marcom experience a plus.

Would prefer someone with 7-15 years experience that can step in right away and function without a lot of support. I can see a future breakout of the admin function as products and sales regions are added, probably this coming fall prior to the 2007 product introductions. BS desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Marcom admin, planning, traffic for projects and product launches
    • Includes billing and scheduling
  • Web development and implementation
    • Track web activity, make recommendations
  • Team with Marketing Director, Product Management on creative development
  • Support sales on specific print or web promotions
    • Interact with customers
  • Interface with ad/pr agencies and outside vendors

 

Applications Engineering Manager

Requirements:

The Apps Manager is responsible for handling the customer/engineering interface. Must be familiar will all aspects of consumer/industrial products engineering and have a functional software background to resolve applications issues. Prefer in intimate knowledge of the PMP market and products/applications in this segment (i.e. Audio, Photo, Video).

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years in the electronics industry. EE req'd. Must be a self starter who can readily resolve issues and can interface with a variety of people.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries on all applications
  • Manage and support the ATO Technical Support provider
  • Maintain and generate FAQ's
  • Test application and software solutions
    • Interface with ATO QA and Sales
  • Monitor apps of major competitors; define new market apps
  • Research third party solutions that could enhance iSee functionality

 

Regional Sales Managers: East, West and Central U.S.

Requirements (Desired Qualifications/Education):

A seasoned-veteran with over five (5) years of professional sales, preferably in consumer electronics. A background in electronics is highly desirable. The selected candidate must be capable of handling direct accounts as well as selected distributors in the assigned territory. A true self-starter capable of winning accounts and responding to customer inquiries in an efficient manner. Works well at all levels within the account. Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.

You must be able to present the product and the company in a polished and professional manner. Well-organized and diligent with your follow-up. A long range thinker capable of developing strategies and tactics to expand business in the assigned territory.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify potential accounts in assigned territory
  2. Work with commercial distributors and their assigned sales reps to acquire orders.
  3. Train sales reps on an as needed basis.
  4. Forecast opportunities within the assigned territory
  5. Develop working relationships with all major retailers in the assigned territory
  6. Participate in distributor events.
  7. Insure that Purchase Orders are routed through corporate headquarters.
  8. Present ATO and its products
  9. Respond to all customer inquiries
  10. Meet sales quota
  11. Generate call reports on all major customer opportunities

 

Business Development Manager

Requirements:

Experience in researching and defining new product/market opportunities in a medium or large company, preferably in an electronic products company with worldwide sales. This person will primarily be responsible for developing B2B applications for the iSee product family. Prior experience in the medical, security, educational or government fields preferred. Contacts with primary and secondary market research suppliers advised. Business proposal writing skills and resourcefulness are mandatory. Requires 3-10 years experience, MBA preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather/analyze market information (need, size, location, pricing etc.)
    • Meet with secondary sources; attend tradeshows
  • Define target customer markets and competitive matrix
  • Define product function and application
  • Define interface requirements
    • Create product spec with applications
    • Define industrial and packaging req's
    • Work with QA on reliability and software req's
  • Work with Sales to determine international req's

 

QA Engineer

Requirements:

Experience working with various audio, video, and image file formats. Test tools and automation development skills. Understand and follow team and project priorities. Work independently and as part of a team. Have strong verbal and written communication skills. Be flexible and able to adapt quickly in a fun, dynamic, fast-paced environment. Experience with portable media players, especially iPods a plus. 3-5 years experience with a bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assure the quality of an award-winning consumer product an accessory for iPods that enables video recording and playback.
  • Test the handheld media player, its user interface, supporting software, and overall user experience.
  • Recognize, reproduce, and isolate issues and defects with the media player and associated software.
  • Record video from various sources and verify playback quality.
  • Validate navigation and usability of handheld media player.
  • Test and certify supporting client application software on Mac and/or PC platforms.
  • Perform reliability and performance analysis between software releases against different iPod models.
  • Communicate issues and information to project team members.
  • Define, develop, and maintain test plans, cases, and scripts.
  • Qualify hardware prototypes through all development phases.
